The Doula Approach to Information presentation
A doula is a specialist who provides emotional, informational, practical, organizational support, and ongoing guidance during transitional stages of life.
Initially, doulas were known as assistants during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. Nowadays, this unique support approach is rapidly expanding into other areas such as the path to conception, experiences of loss, approaching and going through the end of life.
In the field of preconception preparation, doulas have emerged relatively recently. However, they have been involved in childbirth since the 1960s, and there is already a research base.
Women who give birth with doulas present have a 52% lower likelihood of having a cesarean section and a 57% lower likelihood of experiencing postpartum depression or anxiety disorder. Women also report experiencing less pain and greater satisfaction with their childbirth experiences.
Therefore, even familiar information will be presented from a new perspective in this course, with a comprehensive approach and respect for any choice you make.
